# Workspaces and accounts

TryFast works without an account. The [setup flow](/app/zero-account-setup) asks for your website and gives you a workspace with a project and its snippet right away, without an email address or a password. This page explains what an account adds, how to save a workspace to one, and how teams, roles and invitations work.

## Workspaces without an account

A workspace you have not saved to an account (the app calls it an "unsaved workspace") works like any other: the same editor, statistics, AI agent access and API. Your browser holds two credentials for it:

- **A browser cookie** (`tryfast_grant`), renewed whenever you use the app and valid for 90 days after your last visit, so it still opens a workspace that paused after 30 days without use. It lets this browser open and edit the workspace. One browser can hold several unsaved workspaces.
- **A recovery link**, shown once when the workspace is created, of the form `https://tryfast.eu/app/claim?ws=ws_4fK9zQ2mPx#token=tfe_...`. It opens the workspace in another browser and saves it to an account. Keep it somewhere safe; TryFast stores only a hash of the token and cannot show it again. **Workspace settings, New recovery link** creates a new one (the old link stops working). The app also keeps a copy in this browser's local storage.

Clearing your browser's site data removes the cookie; the recovery link still works. Losing access never breaks your site: running experiments keep running until the workspace pauses (below).

### Limits

Unsaved workspaces include 1 project, 3 running experiments (shipped experiments count), 25,000 tested users a month and 10,000 events a day. Custom JavaScript runs in previews only until you save the workspace, HTML in changes passes through an extra allowlist filter, and team members and additional API keys need an account.

### Pause and deletion

An unsaved workspace stays active while you use it. Using it means any request from the app, the API or an AI agent; visitor traffic on your site does not count.

- A workspace that never got a project and was never used is deleted 24 hours after it was created.
- **After 30 days without use it pauses.** Running experiments pause (they are not stopped, so no data is lost), your snippet stops changing your site, and API keys and agent connections stop working. You can still open the workspace in the browser that created it, and save it to an account.
- **After 90 days without use it is deleted** with all its data.

The app shows the dates in a banner while your browser holds unsaved workspaces.

## Save a workspace to an account

Saving a workspace to an account is called claiming. Choose **Save to an account** in the banner, or open the recovery link and sign in. Signing in from the browser that holds the cookie saves every unsaved workspace of that browser at once.

What changes:

- The workspace moves to the **Free plan** and belongs to you as its owner. Pause and deletion no longer apply.
- The browser cookie and the recovery link stop working; from now on you sign in.
- API keys and connected AI agents keep working against the same workspace.
- A paused workspace becomes active again. Its experiments stay paused so you decide when to resume them; resuming continues the same results.

Claiming always works, even if you already own the maximum number of free workspaces.

### Workspaces created by an API client

A script or agent can create a workspace with `POST /api/v1/anonymous-workspaces` ([REST API](api.md)). That workspace has no browser cookie, only the recovery link (`claim_url`) and an API key. The script can build and request launches, but approving a launch needs a signed-in person: open the `claim_url`, sign in, and approve. An agent must hand the link to you and never open it itself.

## Accounts

You sign in with login0, the EU identity service used by TryFast and its sibling products. New users register there; your TryFast account is set up on your first sign-in. login0 asks every user to set up two-factor authentication at the first sign-in. Your name, email, password, two-factor methods and passkeys are managed in the login0 console, which the **Account** page links to.

A person can own up to 3 workspaces on the Free plan. Paid plans are set up by email ([Pricing](/pricing)).

## Teams and roles

A workspace can have any number of members on every account plan. Each member has one role:

| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including deleting the workspace and granting or removing the owner role. Every workspace keeps at least one owner. |
| Admin | Everything except deleting the workspace and changing owners: members (admin, member, viewer), invitations, every API key, agent connections, project settings that change live behavior, deleting projects and experiments that ran. |
| Member | Create projects; create and edit experiments, variations, goals and audiences; launch, pause, stop and ship; approve agent requests (except project settings that change live behavior); create their own API keys; connect agents. |
| Viewer | Read everything (results, activity, settings); create read-only API keys and read-only agent connections. |

### Invitations

Owners and admins invite people by email under **Members**, with the role admin, member or viewer (owners are made by a role change). TryFast shows an invitation link to copy (`https://tryfast.eu/app/invite#token=...`); when the person does not have a login0 account yet, login0 sends them an email to set one up. Invitations are valid for 14 days. Signing in with the invited, verified email address accepts the invitation automatically.

Removing a member also revokes the API keys they created and the AI agents they connected in that workspace.

## Delete your account

**Account, Delete account** deletes your TryFast account (`DELETE /api/v1/me`):

- Workspaces where you are the only member are deleted with all their data. The app lists them before you confirm.
- If you are the only owner of a workspace that has other members, make someone else an owner first.
- Your memberships, sessions, API keys and agent connections are removed. Activity log entries remain, labelled "deleted user".

Your login0 identity is not deleted, because other products may use it; the Account page links to the login0 console where you can delete it.
